New website for Edinburgh's Royal Mile PDF Print E-mail
ImageTake a look at this site, it celebrates Edinburgh's famous and historic Royal Mile and everything connected to it. From Edinburgh Castle to Holyrood Palace and beyond, every step of the mile has a story to tell and it's all featured here.

Edinburgh-royalmile.com is a newly launched website by Chameleon Design
(www.chameleon-arts.com) which covers everything on and connected to the Royal Mile in depth. All places of interest, businesses, shops, cafés, restaurants, pubs, museums, churches and closes are featured.

Sectioned into the Royal Mile’s relevant parts, every step of the mile is photographed from the Castle to Duddingston Loch allowing visitors to the site a virtual tour of the Royal Mile, clicking on anything of interest along the way for more information or to click on participating shops fronts to visit their websites.  Everything on the streets connected to the Royal Mile are also listed (Cockburn Street etc), so visitors can also detour off the Royal Mile and browse and shop anytime from the comfort of their homes, and enjoy the Royal Mile experience from anywhere in the world!

Businesses can buy a direct link to their existing site from www.edinburgh-royalmile.com
for only £40 per year and if they don't have a site they can be linked to a full page advert for an all inclusive price of £150 including full design and the first year's hosting, subsequent years only £40.

The site itself is the result of over two years work but was just recently launched with a "Wish You Were Here!" postcard campaign and the following businesses have already joined the site:
The Witchery Restaurant, The Cashmere Store, Dubh Prais Restaurant, 21st Century Kilts, Geoffrey Tailor Kiltmaker, John Morrison Kiltmaker, The Heritage of Scotland. com, Canongate Crafts, Bagpipes Galore!, The Scotland Shop, The Carson Clark Gallery, White Dove, Family Crests, The Scottish Store, The Cockburn Association, Cadies & Witchery Tours and Psychomoda.

As the site grows it will continue to evolve and improve itself, they are hoping to add many more business both on and off the Royal Mile and create an on-line Royal Mile community.
